Job summary

Select Medical in Florissant, MO is seeking a Rehab Aide to support therapists in outpatient physical therapy. The role involves assisting with patient transfers, positioning, and setup for therapy sessions, while helping maintain clinic operations.

This full-time position offers a M-F schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with compensation starting at $18 per hour and increases based on experience. Benefits are available for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in an OT Assistant program is required.
• Current state licensure or eligibility as a COTA.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists with rehabilitation procedures and patient positioning.
• Lift and transfer patients to/from mats, treatment areas, and equipment.
• Prepare patients for therapy sessions with orthotic/prosthetic devices as needed.
• Maintain a clean, orderly department and equipment.

• Rehab Aide performs patient-related tasks assigned by therapist, including but not limited to:
  • Lifts patients to/from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs, and other equipment appropriate to the facility/department.
  • Assists patients with transfer activities to all surfaces.
  • Assists patients in donning/doffing all appliances specific to the facility/department.
  • Positions patients in parallel bars and prepares patients for standing with appropriate orthotic/prosthetic devices and equipment.
  • Transports patients to/from therapy as needed.
  • Assists therapist with other patient-related treatment activities as appropriate and provides equipment.
  • Assist with patient-related activities, including equipment set-up and patient positioning in preparation for therapy session as outlined in the State Practice Act.
  • Maintains the department and department equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
    

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree in an OT Assistant program required
• Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• Class E license allowing for the operation of the shuttle bus prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR certification
• First aid certification
• Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy center
