Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Regulatory Scientist to join our Chemical Regulation & Food Safety practice in the Washington, DC area. You will contribute to high-level project management, regulatory and technical support for consultants in this practice.

The role requires a BS in a science-related field with MS/PhD preferred; experience with TSCA and environmental regulations; strong communication, writing and proofreading skills; and proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

Qualifications

  • Must have a B.S. in a science-related field with strong regulatory exposure.
  • MS or PhD preferred for advanced regulatory work.
  • Experience with TSCA and environmental regulations is desirable.
  • Detail oriented, able to work independently and manage time.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and track client projects, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on projects, tasks, and timelines.
  • Interact with EPA and State regulators as needed.
  • Gain understanding of chemical regulatory policy including TSCA.
  • Apply product stewardship knowledge across diverse industries.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory approval documents.
  • Provide regulatory review and quality control for TSCA projects.
