Job summary

Midwest Reliability Organization, Inc. is seeking an Enforcement Attorney to develop ERO Enterprise regulatory policies, perform legal research, prepare notices, review noncompliance facts, and negotiate settlements with registered entities.

The role provides legal guidance to leadership and collaborates across MRO departments to strengthen the Bulk Power System's reliability and security. The position emphasizes drafting enforcement documents, improving processes, and representing MRO with NERC

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school is required.
• Active license in good standing in at least one state is required.
• Minimum of three years of legal experience is required.
• Direct experience in administrative law, corporate law, or regulatory affairs is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office applications is required.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience working in the ERO Enterprise is desired.

Responsibilities

• Drafts and reviews enforcement documents, including formal enforcement actions, settlements, memos and policy documents.
• Assists in improving enforcement processes, including Self-Logging Program, KPIs and processing efficiencies.
• Represents MRO in discussions with registered entities, NERC and FERC on CMEP matters.
• Represents and maintains relationships with ERO groups, attends industry forums as assigned.
• Promotes relationships with CMEP teams to support MRO's mission of reliability and security.
• Performs legal research and provides advice to Director of Enforcement and Senior Counsel and management.
• Other duties as assigned.
