Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking a legal professional to navigate regulatory issues around autonomous driving technology. This hybrid role reports to an Assistant General Counsel and partners with policy, safety, privacy, and product teams to shape compliance and commercial strategies.

You will advise on regulatory frameworks, support government engagements, and help scale our regulated operations while leveraging expertise in administrative law and compliance.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• 2 to 4+ years of experience as an attorney in firm, in-house, or government.
• Experience with autonomous vehicles, ride-hailing, or related regulatory issues.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise on applicability of state and local legal frameworks to autonomous vehicle tech.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support regulatory outcomes.
• Represent Waymo’s legal interests with government authorities and stakeholders.
• Advise teams building scalable compliance programs and processes.
• Support expansion of highly regulated business operations.
• Gain subject matter expertise as new issues emerge.
