Job summary

Amazon is seeking a regulatory counsel to shape regulatory strategy for autonomous vehicles and robotics for last mile delivery. You will serve as SME on NHTSA regulations, FMVSA, and state/local AV laws, advising on deployment across jurisdictions and translating regulatory requirements into actionable guidance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of legal experience.
• 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience.
• Juris Doctor and bar admission in one state or equivalent.
• 1+ years of Product Safety & Compliance Law experience.
• Experience advising on the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Act, NHTSA, or similar regimes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as regulatory expert for autonomous vehicle and robotics programs.
• Develop the regulatory strategy across jurisdictions and assess risk.
• Build and maintain compliance frameworks from testing to deployment.
• Advise engineering and product teams on regulatory implications for design and testing.
• Monitor evolving regulations and advise on impact for current and planned programs.
• Support regulatory filings, incident response, and regulator engagements.
• Collaborate with product counsel and other legal teams on cross‑cutting issues.
