Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking a Healthcare Support Programs Unit Supervisor in Jefferson City. This role provides administrative oversight of the Certificate of Need and Supplemental Health Care Agency programs, coordinating inspections and regulatory actions for long-term care facilities and hospitals.

Responsibilities include leading disciplinary actions, recommending enforcement actions to boards, and guiding staff in regulatory processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate initiative and critical thinking in collaboration with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Effective leadership promoting customer service and staff development.
  • Two to Four years of relevant regulatory compliance, investigations, or auditing experience.

  • Initiate disciplinary actions on licensees or registrants as needed.

Job Location:

This position will be located at 920 Wildwood Dr. Jefferson City, MO, in the Division of Regulation and Licensure.

Why You’ll Love This Position

Become a part of a collaborative team within the Division of Regulation and Licensure. This position serves as the Healthcare Support Programs Unit Supervisor and provides administrative oversight to: the Certificate of Need program, tasked with providing administrative support to the Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee and the Supplemental Health Care Agency program, tasked with the review of initial and annual renewal registration applications and collection of fees from agencies that provide nursing and other caregiving staff to long term care facilities and hospitals on a temporary, contractual basis.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

  • Direct and supervise all regulatory processes for the program, including the coordination of the inspection activity of program staff; Coordinate and lead the rule promulgation process for the program areas within the Unit;
  • Initiate disciplinary action on licensees or registrants, as necessary and/or directed by the Board;
  • Make recommendation of agency inspection compliance, non-compliance citations, and acceptable plans of correction to the respective Boards;
  • Exercise considerable independence and initiative in the performance of responsibilities; receiving general administrative direction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
  • Ability to learn new software and administrative processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidate should possess strong organization skills and ability to complete tasks and projects autonomously with adherence to deadlines.
  • Demonstrate and utilize critical thinking skills and innovation by showing a great deal of initiative when interacting collaboratively with leadership, staff, industry, and stakeholder groups;
  • Must possess effective leadership skills that promote customer service; non-adversarial enforcement of regulations; and the professional development of staff within the Unit;
  • Two (2) to Four (4) years of relevant experience related to regulatory compliance, investigations, or auditing.
