Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist in New Jersey to handle inpatient and outpatient access, perform interviews, verify demographics, coordinate scheduling and pre-certifications, and support financial clearance while upholding quality standards.

You will work with EPIC for eligibility and billing, assist patients with payment options, and ensure accurate records and compliant processes in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work rotating schedules.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite).
• Bilingual abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in person or by phone in a prompt, courteous, respectful and helpful manner.
• Perform insurance verification and pre-registration tasks for the assigned outpatient point of service.
• Coordinate scheduling, bed planning, pre-certification and registration activities.
• Assist with billing, financial clearance and upfront cash collection as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
