Job summary

BayCare is seeking a part-time Registrar in Saint Petersburg to greet and register patients, input demographics and insurance data, and assist with the intake process. This role requires attention to confidentiality and timely data entry.

You will verify coverage, obtain authorizations, and communicate policies to patients and families. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of customer service experience, strong interpersonal skills, and basic computer proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• Experience with patient registration systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register/admit patients.
• Input patient demographics and insurance into systems.
• Document communications and other data in systems.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations when needed.
• Explain policies and procedures and answer routine questions.
• Coordinate with staff for patient intake/bed assignment and ensure confidentiality.

Role Overview

Responsible for greeting and registering/admitting patients. Inputs patient demographics and insurance coverage into systems. Documents communications, actions and other data in systems. Gathers pertinent information in regards to patient insurance coverage to confirm the patient's financial obligations for services. Verifies insurance coverage and obtains required authorizations when necessary. Reviews forms/paperwork and obtains necessary consents and signatures from patient and/or family. Explains policies and procedures and answers routine questions. Works with others for patient intake/bed assignment. Follows all established policies and procedures to ensure patient confidentiality, data security and compliance with regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
