Ethos Veterinary Health’s SAGE Redwood City hospital seeks an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join its Emergency & Critical Care team. The role offers swing and overnight shifts, 4/10 or 3/12 schedules, and a sign-on bonus for overnight and swing shifts.

You will triage, monitor vital signs, administer medications, place IV catheters, run labs, and collaborate with veterinarians to provide advanced care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced, patient-centered

Qualifications

• Current California RVT license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years of emergency or critical care experience as an RVT preferred, or six+ years of veterinary experience with advanced technical skills.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing, emergency medicine, and patient monitoring.

• Triage emergency patients and document initial assessments.
• Monitor vital signs including ECG, blood pressure, SpO₂, temperature, and condition.
• Administer medications, emergency treatments, IV fluids, CRIs, transfusions, and oxygen therapy.

• Perform laboratory diagnostics and monitor treatment response.
• Provide advanced nursing care for critically ill and post‑operative patients.
• Communicate patient updates clearly with clients and team.

Up to $40.00/hour (based on experience) + $5.50/hour shift differential for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM

In Your Day‑to‑Day, You Will

• Triage emergency patients and document initial assessments.
• Monitor patient vital signs including ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation (SpO₂), temperature, and overall condition.
• Administer medications, emergency treatments, IV fluids, continuous rate infusions (CRIs), blood transfusions, and oxygen therapy.
• Place IV catheters and assist with emergency procedures and surgeries.
• Perform laboratory diagnostics and monitor patient response to treatment.
• Provide advanced nursing care for critically ill, emergency, and post‑operative patients.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and promptly communicate changes in condition to the medical team.
• Participate in patient rounds and collaborate on treatment plans.
• Communicate patient updates and treatment information with clients in a compassionate and professional manner.
• Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and patient care standards.
• Collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative hospital culture focused on outstanding emergency and critical care.

What You Bring

• Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years of emergency or critical care experience as an RVT preferred, or six or more years of veterinary experience with advanced technical skills.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing, emergency medicine, and patient monitoring.
• Excellent technical skills including IV catheter placement, medication administration, laboratory diagnostics, and emergency patient care.
• Ability to accurately calculate medication dosages, CRIs, and treatment plans.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and client service skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced specialty and emergency environment.
