Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health—SAGE Concord is seeking an Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to deliver high-level nursing care for emergency patients in Concord, California. The role supports veterinarians and specialists in a fast-paced hospital, with a Thursday–Saturday, three 12-hour shift schedule and an opportunity to participate in advanced care and diagnostics.

• Must hold California RVT license and be in good standing.
• Minimum of two years of emergency or clinical veterinary experience.
• Strong clinical skills in venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, calculations and safe patient handling.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional nursing care for emergency patients throughout hospital stay.
• Triage incoming emergency cases and support clients during urgent situations.
• Collaborate with veterinarians on assessments, diagnostics, treatments and procedures.
• Collect and process laboratory samples and assist with advanced imaging.
• Induce, monitor and recover patients under anesthesia/sedation.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and respond to changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate updates to the team.
• Work with veterinarians, technicians and support staff.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.

Up to $40.00/hour (DOE) + $5.50/hour Shift Differential (6:00 PM-6:00 AM)

Full-time opportunity in Concord, California

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

• Deliver exceptional nursing care for emergency patients throughout their hospital stay.
• Triage incoming emergency cases and support clients during urgent and emotionally challenging situations.
• Partner with veterinarians to perform patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Collect and process laboratory samples and assist with advanced diagnostic imaging.
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia and sedation.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate patient updates with the medical team.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.

What You Bring

• Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.
• Minimum of two years of emergency or clinical veterinary experience.
• Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, drug calculations, and patient handling.
• Excellent communication, client service, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency environment.
