Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health in Campbell, CA seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant for Emergency/ ER. You will support veterinarians, monitor critically ill patients, and coordinate around-the-clock care with the CCU team.

This full-time swing shift (Sun-Wed, 2:00 PM–12:30 AM) offers competitive wages ($25–$40/hr) plus a $5.50/hr shift differential, plus CE allowances, licensing support, and growth opportunities within Ethos Veterinary Health.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2+ years of ER/CCU clinical experience required.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates.
• Must maintain VACSP or have CA-RVT license as waiver applies.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during treatments and procedures.
• Monitor critically ill or injured patients.
• Coordinate with team for around-the-clock care and treatment planning.
• Provide compassionate care to patients and owners.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures (bloodwork, imaging).

About The Role

As an ER Vet Tech, you'll be an essential part of our veterinary team, providing vital support to our veterinarians in ensuring the utmost care and comfort for our clients' cherished pets.

Some Duties You Will Own In This Role

• Assist veterinarians during treatments and procedures.

• Collaborate with the team to ensure around-the-clock care and treatment coordination.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures such as bloodwork and imaging.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Monitor and maintain medical equipment.
• Communicate with pet owners regarding patient updates and treatment plans.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and provide emergency care as needed.

• Full-Time - 4/10 Schedule
• Sunday - Wednesday 2PM-12:30AM (Swing Shift)

Basic Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• 2+ years of clinical experience in an ER/CCU setting required
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
• Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)
