Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) – Emergency at SAGE San Francisco, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, is a full-time role with up to $40.00/hour DOE plus a $5.50/hour shift differential and a sign-on bonus up to $7,000. Four 10-hour shifts offer a dynamic, fast-paced environment in an advanced emergency hospital.

You will triage, provide advanced nursing care, administer medications, monitor critical patients, and support diagnostics alongside a skilled team.

Qualifications

• Current California RVT license required.
• Minimum of three years of veterinary clinical experience; Emergency, Critical Care, ICU, or Specialty experience preferred.
• Strong technical skills in venipuncture, catheter placement, medication administration, CRIs and patient monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency patients and prioritize care based on medical urgency.
• Provide advanced nursing care and continuous monitoring for critically ill and hospitalized patients.
• Administer medications, oxygen therapy, IV fluids, CRIs, and prescribed treatments.
• Place and maintain intravenous, central, and urinary catheters.
• Perform bloodwork, support radiographs, ultrasound, CT, MRI and other diagnostics.
• Assist veterinarians with CPR, thoracocentesis, stabilization and emergency procedures.
• Monitor post-operative and hospitalized patients and respond to changes promptly.
• Maintain electronic medical records and patient documentation.
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians, specialty teams and pet owners.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

• Monitor post-operative and hospitalized patients and quickly recognize changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records, treatment sheets, and patient documentation.
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians, specialty teams, and pet owners.
• Maintain emergency equipment and supplies and contribute to efficient patient flow.

What You Bring

• Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required.
• Minimum of three years of veterinary clinical experience; Emergency, Critical Care, ICU, or Specialty experience preferred.
• Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, medication administration, CRIs, and advanced patient monitoring.
• Strong mathematical skills for calculating drug dosages, CRIs, client estimates, and invoices.
• Excellent patient handling, communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency veterinary hospital.
