The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta in San Diego, CA is hiring a part-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate holds a current RVT license, has 3+ years of veterinary experience, and excels in blood draws, anesthesia, digital radiology, and client education.

Responsibilities include assisting doctors, rooming patients, blood collection, radiology, dentistry, and maintaining meticulous records.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician with a current license.
• 3+ years veterinary experience preferred.
• Experience with restraint and proper animal handling.
• Proficient in blood draws and venipuncture.
• Knowledge of digital radiology and dental radiography.
• Understanding of client education and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctor and technical staff with patient care and restraints.
• Room patients, draw blood, and perform routine bloodwork.
• Operate radiology equipment and perform dental radiographs.
• Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Maintain accurate medical histories and client communications.

The hourly pay band for this position is $26.00 - $30.00; this varies depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Join our incredible team at The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta as the next great step in your career. We are looking to add a Part-Time Registered Veterinary Technician to our team. The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, venipuncture, restraint, knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and supportive team member.

The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta is a 3-doctor hospital open from 8 am - 6 pm Monday through Friday, and 8:30 am - 5:30 pm on Saturday, closed on Sundays. The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta aims to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent quality medicine and compassionate medical care. Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Technician, the license must be current
• 3+ years of veterinary experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
• Assisting doctor and other technical staff with restraint
• Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
• Placing IV catheters
• Digital radiology including positioning.
• Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
• Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
• TPR
• Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
• Excellent client communication/education
• Saturdays required
