Position Overview

Join our team as a Registered Veterinary Technician who supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include determining animal requirements, conducting examinations, assisting during surgery and operations, nursing care, feeding and caring for patients, maintaining supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharge, and keeping accurate medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews, reviewing care plans and records, completing laboratory tests and studies, and diagnostic imaging.
  • Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, vaccines, and bandaging wounds.
  • Support patient examinations and operations by assembling supplies and instruments, securing patients to examination rooms, restraining patients, and assisting as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Apply full knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, specialized equipment, and drug administration.
  • Obtain and verify medications.
  • Ensure patients have food and water, keep rooms and equipment clean, and observe for clinical signs.
  • Fill prescriptions and administer medications, including proper documentation and security of controlled drugs.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing instruments, sanitizing holding and operating areas, storing sterile supplies, verifying shelf life, and following standards and procedures.
  • Maintain medical records by documenting conditions, reactions, and changes; update the database promptly.
  • Communicate with pet owners about patient status, as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Maintain equipment by following instructions, troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain inventory, place orders, verify receipts, and keep supplies stocked.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional journals.
  • Release pets to owners as directed, ensuring each animal is clean and groomed.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or practice.
Qualifications (Required)
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
  • Experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with dental experience.
  • Knowledge of preparation, monitoring, and recovery of pets receiving surgery, as well as basic pet nursing.
  • Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in good standing (or eligibility for licensure, if applicable).
  • Graduate of an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technology program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical veterinary experience preferred (new graduates encouraged).
  • Proficiency in animal restraint and handling techniques for a variety of species.
  • Experience with venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and diagnostic testing.
  • Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and patient recovery protocols.
  • Ability to administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, infection control, and veterinary nursing standards.
  • Excellent communication and client education skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with veterinary practice management software preferred.
  • Ability to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 50 pounds (or more with assistance).

  • Experience with EMR systems.

Monday (8:00 AM–5:00 PM), Tuesdays–Friday (8:00 AM–6:00 PM)

Pay Range

$24.75 – $30.25 USD per hour
