Job description

Del Mar Heights Veterinary Hospital consists of a team of highly trained and extremely motivated individuals whose primary concern is for the health and well-being of its patients. We have been proudly serving Del Mar since 1990. We are currently looking to hire a Full‑Time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team!

Salary

$26.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Schedule

Full‑time (No Weekends required), 1 hour lunch breaks.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California, license must be active and in good standing.
• 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting.
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
• Passion for working with animals and their owners.
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint.
• Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic exam procedures.
• Skilled in venipuncture and Intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular).
• Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning.
• Perform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting, and extractions (preferred).
• Comfortable with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique).
• Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); in-house laboratory equipment.
• Ability to utilize ultrasound to obtain diagnostic images and urine samples (preferred).
• Excellent client communication/education.
• Ability to perform Technician appointments independently, including accurate medical record documentation.
