Job summary

Destination Pet is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join Nebel Street Animal Hospital in Rockville, MD. You will work to the top of your license as a clinical leader, delivering anesthesia, dentistry, diagnostics, nursing, and triage with a patient-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Anesthesia & Analgesia: IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, monitoring.
• Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, periodontal therapy as directed.
• Diagnostics: In-house lab analysis and radiograph interpretation.
• Nursing & Triage: Patient monitoring, wound care, catheter care.
• Workflow Leadership: Lead technician appointments, team huddles, mentoring.

Our state-of-the-art facility features two dedicated DVMs and an experienced support team committed to the highest standards of care. We provide top-of-the-line medical, surgical, and dental equipment, as well as an in-house laboratory and ultrasonography.

Your Role - Clinical Driver & Leader

As a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), you will be encouraged to work to the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset. We follow AAHA utilization guidance consistently.

• Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
• Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
• Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
• Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
• Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.

Schedule: Full-time with flexible scheduling options (choose 4 ten-hour or 5 eight-hour shifts) and a predictable weekend rotation.
