Purple Paws Pet Clinic in Coronado, CA is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to practice at the top of your license and lead as a clinical driver in a small animal hospital. Expect structured growth, transparent pay, and a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.
• Veterinary technician with capability to work at the top of license.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia and analgesia care including monitoring and recovery.
• Perform dentistry procedures including radiography and periodontal therapy (DVVM guidance).
• Conduct diagnostics with in-house labs and radiography.
• Nursing and triage including monitoring, wound care, and catheter management.
• Lead tech appointments, mentor assistants and externs.

We are dedicated to staying current with the latest advancements in diagnostics, medical treatments, surgical procedures, and preventative wellness. Purple Paws Pet Clinic is equipped for excellence. We provide top-of-the-line medical, surgical, and dental equipment, as well as in house ultrasound.

Your Role - Clinical Driver & Leader

As a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), you will be encouraged to work at the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset. We follow AAHA utilization guidance consistently.

You will primarily utilize your skills in:

• Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
• Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
• Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
• Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
• Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.

Schedule: Full-time with flexible scheduling options (choose 4 ten-hour or 5 eight-hour shifts) and a predictable weekend rotation.
