Job summary

MedQuest Imaging, a subsidiary of Novant Health, is seeking a Registered Technical Assistant to join an outpatient imaging team in Winston-Salem. You will help prepare patients for exams, assist technologists, start IVs, and ensure smooth workflow across imaging centers.

No overnight or on-call shifts are required, and the center emphasizes compassionate patient care and teamwork with coordinators and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required.
• Phlebotomy certification or CMA/RMA or ARRT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients prior to exam.
• Assist patients in completing electronic paperwork.
• Obtain medical history from the patient.
• Escort the patient to changing room and ensure proper attire for exam.
• Escort patients to/from mobile MRI or exam room.
• Assist the Technologist in preparing the MRI table (coil selection, linen).
• Start and remove IVs.
• Maintain linen inventory.
• Research availability and obtain reports and images requested by Radiologist.
• Serve as liaison between Technologist and Radiologist.

What You'll Do

The Registered Technical Assistant is responsible for providing a variety of technical and non-technical duties related to the efficiency of the workflow at the imaging center. Serves as an assistant to the Technologist for the purpose of ensuring patients are prepared for their exam, complete the exam in an effective manner and start/remove IVs. Duties include the following:

• Screen patients prior to exam
• Assist the patient in completing electronic paperwork
• Obtain medical history from the patient
• Escort the patient to the changing room and ensure they are dressed appropriately for the exam
• Escort patients to and from the mobile MRI or exam room
• Assist the Technologist in preparing the MRI table (coil selection, changing linen, etc.)
• Start and remove IVs
• Maintain linen inventory
• Research availability and obtain reports and images requested by Radiologist
• Serve as liaison between the Technologist and Radiologist
• Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Phlebotomy certification, Certified Medical Assistant certification through AAMA or NHA, Registered Medical Assistant certification through AMT or ARMA, or ARRT registered in (R), (MR), (CT), or (M) required
• CPR certification required

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 0 – 2 years of experience
