Job summary

MedQuest Imaging, a trusted partner of Novant Health, is seeking a Registered Technical Assistant to join our Mobile MRI Team in coastal NC. This hands-on role combines patient care with travel across communities, supporting MRI operations at multiple facilities.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, IV starts, screen and prepare patients, and coordinate with Radiologists and Technologists to ensure smooth exams. High school diploma and appropriate certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CMA certification through AAMA or NHA, or ARRT registration in R/MR/CT/M, or RMA certification through AMT/ARMA required.
• Venipuncture and IV start skills preferred for MRI patient care.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients prior to exam.
• Assist patients with completing electronic paperwork.
• Obtain medical history from patients.
• Escort patients to changing room and exam area.
• Escort patients to/from the mobile MRI or exam room.
• Assist the technologist in preparing the MRI table and supplies.
• Start and remove IVs as needed.
• Research availability and obtain reports/images requested by Radiologist.
• Serve as liaison between Technologist and Radiologist.
• Other duties as assigned.

Are you a Registered Technical Assistant looking for a hands-on role that combines patient care, teamwork, and travel? MedQuest Imaging, a trusted partner of Novant Health, is seeking a Registered Technical Assistant to join our growing Mobile MRI Team.

As a member of our mobile team, you'll help bring high-quality diagnostic imaging services directly to communities across the region while supporting MRI operations at multiple healthcare facilities. This role is ideal for candidates with patient care experience, including performing venipuncture and starting IVs.

What You'll Do

The Registered Technical Assistant is responsible for providing a variety of technical and non-technical duties related to the efficiency of the workflow at the imaging center. Serves as an assistant to the Technologist for the purpose of ensuring patients are prepared for their exam, complete the exam in an effective manner and start/remove IVs. Duties include the following:

• Screen patients prior to exam
• Assist the patient in completing electronic paperwork
• Obtain medical history from the patient
• Escort the patient to the changing room and ensure they are dressed appropriately for the exam
• Escort patients to and from the mobile MRI or exam room
• Assist the Technologist in preparing the MRI table (coil selection, changing linen, etc.)
• Start and remove IVs
• Research availability and obtain reports and images requested by Radiologist
• Serve as liaison between the Technologist and Radiologist
• Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Phlebotomy certification, Certified Medical Assistant certification through AAMA or NHA, Registered Medical Assistant certification through AMT or ARMA, or ARRT registered in (R), (MR), (CT), or (M) required
