Carilion Clinic invited applications for a Registered Sonographer - Echo in Roanoke, VA. The role supports the Cardiovascular Institute with state-of-the-art echo procedures and participation in research.

Positional duties include TTE/TEE, contrast studies, and stress testing in a busy hospital setting. New grads welcome; ARDMS/ARRT and CPR required. Competitive compensation with benefits and opportunities for ongoing CME.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; graduate of approved School of Ultrasound or equivalent training.
• New graduates encouraged to apply; prior hospital experience not required.
• ARRT/ARDMS registry in OB/Gyn, Abdomen, or Neurosonography; CPR certification.
• Strong interpersonal, technical, and flexible team player skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) and report findings.
• Perform transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) as assigned.
• Conduct contrast and agitated saline studies.
• Support clinical trials and research projects.

Cardiac structural procedures to include: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) Transcatheter mitral valve repair (MitraClip) Left atrial appendage closure (Watchman) PFO and ASD closure Impella left ventricular support device Left ventricular remodeling (clinical trial) Experience: Experienced sonographer with hospital-based experience preferred, but new registered graduates are encouraged to apply. Licensure, certification, and/or registration: ARDMS or CCI Echocardiography registry required, or candidate must be eligible to obtain registry, BLS required.* Assesses patients for procedures ordered prior to, during, and after treatment according to Imaging Services/Departmental Guidelines.* Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic, CR (Computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System).* Trains students and staff as assigned.* Creates a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families.* Assesses data reflective of the patient status. Interprets information needed to identify each patients requirement and/or specific needs, and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.* Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.# **What We Require:****Education:** High school graduate or equivalent.
