Job summary

Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg seeks a Registered Sonographer- Vascular (NRV) Flex/PRN to perform carotid, venous, arterial and renal ultrasounds. Positions cover days, weekends and holidays with patient-centered care and a focus on training students and staff.

Experience in vascular ultrasound preferred but not required; RVT/ARDMS or RVS/CCI certification in vascular preferred. CPR required. Competitive pay and opportunities for CMEs are offered.

• Graduate of approved School of Ultrasound or equivalent training.

Create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families. Experience: Vascular ultrasound experience preferred but not required. Licensure, certification, and/or registration RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) in Vascular Sonography. ARDMS or CCI. CPR certification required.* Assesses patients for procedures ordered prior to, during, and after treatment according to Imaging Services/Departmental Guidelines.* Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic, CR (Computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System).* Trains students and staff as assigned.* Creates a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families.* Assesses data reflective of the patient status. Interprets information needed to identify each patients requirement and/or specific needs, and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.* Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.# **What We Require:****Education:** High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of approved School of Ultrasound or equivalent training.**Experience:** none**Licensure, certification, and/or registration**: ARRT registry/ARDMS in one of the following areas: OB/Gyn, Abd or Neurosonography.
