Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of technical imaging procedures and provide quality care to patients.
• Assess patients for procedures ordered prior to, during, and after treatment according to Imaging Services/Departmental Guidelines.
• Operate highly specialized equipment, including radiographic, CR (Computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System).
• Train students and staff as assigned.
• Create a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
• Assess data reflective of the patient status and interpret information needed to identify each patient's requirement and/or specific needs, providing care per applicable policy and procedures.
• Interact with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved School of Ultrasound or equivalent training.
• Experience: Experienced sonographer with hospital-based experience preferred; new registered graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Registered Cardiac Sonographer—ARDMS/CCI in adult echo, BLS required.
• Licensure, certification, and/or registration: ARRT registry/ARDMS in OB/Gyn, Abd or Neurosonography.
• CPR certification required.
• Other: Interpersonal and technical skills and flexibility in assignments.
