Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• At least 1 year of experience in neurophysiology or sleep disorders (preferred)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred; required before patient care)
• Polysomnography State Licensure if applicable (preferred; required in some states)
• Must have one of: RPSGT, RST, or SDS credential (required for some jurisdictions)
• Knowledge of sleep medicine guidelines and testing procedures
• Ability to operate sleep study equipment and document findings

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient and review clinical data to select testing modalities
• Operate polysomnographic equipment to obtain diagnostic recordings
• Document accurate technical reports for physician interpretation
• Coordinate scheduling, billing, and routine office tasks
• Maintain continuing education in neurodiagnostic field
• Perform sleep staging and event scoring per AASM guidelines
• Troubleshoot polysomnographic and office equipment
• Adhere to infection control policies and safe work practices
