Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL seeks a Respiratory Therapist RRT for per diem days/evenings. You will support physicians with respiratory procedures and deliver therapy to patients across neonatal to geriatric groups.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, documentation, and education for families and staff. Requirements include an accredited RT program, RRT or registry eligibility, IL licensure within 6 months, CPR, and ACLS/NRP/PALS within specified windows.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry eligible.
• IL Respiratory Care Practitioner license within 6 months.
• Current CPR certification by American Heart Association.
• ACLS within 24 months.
• NRP within 24 months.
• PALS within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine the best method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and orders.
• Explain treatments clearly to patients and families.
• Monitor patient response to therapy, with focus on pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range

$33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Respiratory Therapist RRT - Per Diem Level I - Days/Evenings

• Location: Evanston Hospital - Evanston, IL

• Per Diem Level I - Must be able to work 48 hours every 6 weeks. 24 of those hours must be on the weekend.

• Hours: Shift will vary Monday-Friday from 7am-3pm, 7am-7pm, Saturday-Sunday from 7am - 3pm with holiday and weekend requirements.

What you will do

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures

• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures

• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment

• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians

• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner

• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients

• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need

• Education : Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)

• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status

• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment

• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 24 months of employment

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 24 months of employment

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
