Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for Per Diem Level 2 shifts (days) at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The role involves neonatal to geriatric care, with varied shifts and on-call considerations.

You will assist physicians, document treatments, and monitor patient responses while providing patient education and family communication. Per diem status and schedule details reflect departmental needs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program as determined by CoARC.
• RRT or registry-eligible status required with Illinois licensure within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification (AHA) and ACLS/NRP/PALS within stated timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures.
• Deliver respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine best method of treatment.
• Document treatments, equipment maintenance and orders.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly to patients and families.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy, focusing on neonatal and pediatric populations.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $33.16 - $49.74

The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

Position: Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem Level 2 - Days

Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL

Per Diem Commitment Level 2: 73-110 hours per 6-week schedule

Hours: Shifts will vary Monday-Friday from 7:00am-7:30pm. 1 weekend and 1 holiday shift during 6 week period, required. Holidays are scheduled with A/B rotation.

What you will do

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures


• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures


• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment


• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians


• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner


• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients


• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)


• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 24 months of employment NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 24 months of employment PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
