Job summary

Endeavor Health's Respiratory Therapy team in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Nights RT for full-time employment. The role involves working 36 hours per week with night shifts and a $25,000 sign-on bonus.

You will collaborate with physicians and care teams to deliver neonatal through geriatric respiratory care in a Magnet-hospital level setting. Candidates must be a graduate of a CoARC-accredited program and hold or be eligible for RRT licensure in Illinois, with required CPR, ACLS, NRP, and PALS

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program.
• RRT certification or registry-eligible status required.
• State licensure in Illinois within six months of hire.
• Current AHA CPR certification required.
• ACLS within 24 months of employment.
• NRP within 24 months of employment.
• PALS within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory care to neonatal through geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance, and quality control activities; transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment plans to patients and families clearly.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy with emphasis on pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide education to patients and staff.

Education

Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC)

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry eligible status

Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within 6 months

Current CPR certification (American Heart Association)

ACLS within 24 months of employment

NRP within 24 months of employment

PALS within 24 months of employment

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Sign on bonus: $25,000

• Position: Respiratory Therapist - Nights

• Location: Elmhurst Hospital - Elmhurst, IL

• Full Time | 36 hours/week

• Hours: shifts will vary Monday - Friday from 7:00pm to 7:30am with every third weekend and rotating holidays required

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures

• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures

• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment

• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians

• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner

• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients

• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)

• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status.

• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment.

• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 24 months of employment

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 24 months of employment

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
