Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with department standards and scope of practice. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and monitoring patients on mechanical ventilation.

What You Will Do in This Role

• Perform and document patient assessments, conduct diagnostic procedures, and evaluate respiratory therapy needs.
• Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with artificial airway placement and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patient responses, notify providers, and intervene as necessary.
• Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• Respond to emergencies ensuring airway integrity and ventilation during resuscitation.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Current BLS and NRP required upon hire
• CRT or RRT certification by NBRC upon hire
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Graduated from an accredited school recognized by NBRC
• Minimum 1 year NICU experience
• Minimum 1 year RRT experience
