Qualifications

Position Details

Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231

Work hours: Full time; Nights; rotating weekends

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program.
• Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
• Preferred: 1 year of Med/Surg or critical care experience.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) upon hire.
• BCLS certification prior to independent patient care, maintained quarterly.
• Acls (ICU & ED): 90 days required.
• NRP required if working in NICU (90 days).
• Excellent communication skills and computer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical records and obtain patient history.
• Evaluate patients using age and diagnosis-appropriate assessments.
• Apply patient care interventions according to protocols.
• Perform age-specific assessments and individualize care.
• Use therapeutic techniques suitable for patient's age and treatment preferences.
• Perform treatment procedures within scope of license.
