Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Therapy, the Respiratory Therapist RRT is responsible for administering therapeutic and diagnostic procedures to patients with respiratory disorders, including those requiring intensive care.

Job Responsibilities
- Administers medical gases, humidifiers, medications, and aerosols for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.
- Provides basic patient education.
- Follows physician orders in administering drugs and medications to the cardiopulmonary system.
- Develops and evaluates treatment plans.
- Performs assessments and interprets results of Arterial Blood Gases, Pulmonary Function Tests, EKGs, and chest X-rays.
- Communicates patient progress and plans with the respiratory team and physicians.
- Participates in patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
- Maintains clinical documentation according to regulatory and professional standards.
- Records treatments and completes reports per facility policies.
- Participates in discharge planning and coordinates with other departments.
- Represents the facility professionally.
- Addresses concerns with patients' families and colleagues professionally and proactively.
- Complies with relevant regulations and standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
- Minimum three years of relevant experience and six months in mechanical ventilation.
- Current Certified Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Maintain current certifications in good standing during employment.
