Job summary

LCMC Health in Alaska is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality cardiopulmonary care. You will assess patients, manage ventilators, perform arterial punctures, and support airway procedures while treating the whole person with empathy.

You will work days in a hospital setting in the United States, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and upholding safety, infection control, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, CPR certifications.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in patient assessment and ventilator management.
• Perform arterial punctures and assist with bronchoscopy.
• Support code III response and airway management per policies.
• Monitor equipment and ensure aseptic technique.
• Coordinate care and document procedures accurately.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate proficiency in critical and general care procedures including patient assessment, ventilator management, arterial punctures, code III response, bronchoscopy assistance, intubation, monitoring equipment, airway management, endo/nasotracheal suctioning, arterial line placement, aerosol therapy, IPPB, CPT, oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry, aerochamber/inhaler, and peak flow meters. Organize and set priorities while assuring safe operation of all equipment needed for patient care and procedures within the established guidelines and timeframes. Manage equipment and supply needs appropriately. Demonstrate quality improvement commitment through accurate monitoring, documentation, and incident reporting. Participate in planning and problem solving. Adhere to BSI policies at all times. Perform treatments using aseptic technique when required. Follow, instruct and enforce others on infection control policies and procedures. Maintain a safe environment for everyone, recognize, and take action to correct unsafe conditions using proper communication channels. Communicate information regarding treatments ensuring patients or family members understanding, comprehension, and active participation.

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current American Heart Association BLS, CPR certifications
