Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive cardiopulmonary care for patients across all ages. The role covers ventilator management, airway support, and arterial access with emphasis on patient assessment and safety.

Responsibilities include procedural support, adherence to infection control, accurate documentation, and active participation in quality improvement. Day shift opportunities are available in the United States.

Qualifications

• Active RT license with Louisiana State Board.
• NBRC-registered RT in good standing.
• Current BLS and CPR certifications; ACLS and PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in critical and general care procedures including patient assessment, ventilator management, arterial punctures, and intubation.
• Assist bronchoscopy, manage monitoring equipment, airway procedures, arterial line placement, and suctioning.
• Organize and set priorities while assuring safe operation of all equipment needed for patient care and procedures within established guidelines and timeframes.
• Manage equipment and supply needs appropriately.
• Demonstrate quality improvement commitment through accurate monitoring, documentation, and incident reporting.
• Participate in planning and problem solving to enhance patient care processes.
• Adhere to BSI policies at all times.
• Perform treatments using aseptic technique when required.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe environment for everyone, communicating unsafe conditions effectively.
• Communicate information regarding treatments so patients or family members understand, comprehend, and actively participate in care decisions.

Overview

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist you believe in treating the whole person, going beyond nebulizers, inhalers and ventilators. You provide comprehensive care for cardiopulmonary disorders, ensuring safe and effective respiratory support for patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in critical and general care procedures including patient assessment, ventilator management, arterial punctures, code III response, bronchoscopy assistance, intubation, monitoring equipment, airway management, endo/nasotracheal suctioning, arterial line placement, aerosol therapy, IPPB, CPT, oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry, aerochamber/inhaler use, and peak flow meters.
• Organize and set priorities while assuring safe operation of all equipment needed for patient care and procedures within established guidelines and timeframes.
• Manage equipment and supply needs appropriately.
• Demonstrate quality improvement commitment through accurate monitoring, documentation, and incident reporting.
• Participate in planning and problem solving to enhance patient care processes.
• Adhere to BSI policies at all times.
• Perform treatments using aseptic technique when required.
• Follow, instruct, and enforce infection control policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe environment for everyone, recognizing and correcting unsafe conditions through proper communication channels.
