The ideal candidate must be a licensed Respiratory Therapist, hold certifications from the National Board for Respiratory Care, and maintain current ACLS and PALS certifications. The position is located in the United States and offers a collaborative clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist with current certifications in BLS, CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
• Experience in patient assessment and ventilator management.

About the Role

Registered Respiratory Therapist responsible for patient assessment, ventilator management, and various airway and respiratory procedures. Provide compassionate care while ensuring safe, effective treatment for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessment and manage ventilator settings.
• Perform arterial punctures, code III response, bronchoscopy assistance, intubation, airway management, endo/nasotracheal suctioning, and arterial line placement.
• Administer aerosol therapy, IPPB, CPT, oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry, aerochamber/inhaler, peak flow meters.
• Organize and prioritize tasks, ensuring safe operation of all equipment within guidelines.
• Manage equipment and supply needs appropriately.
• Document treatments accurately and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Plan and problem‑solve clinical issues.
• Adhere to BSI policies and infection control protocols, performing treatments using aseptic technique when required.
• Maintain a safe environment and correct unsafe conditions via proper communication channels.
• Communicate treatment information to patients and families to ensure understanding and participation.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist – Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Current American Heart Association certifications: BLS, CPR.
