Job summary

100 LCMC Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist who is committed to providing comprehensive care to patients. You will administer and manage ventilatory support, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality of care.

The role includes a variety of responsibilities such as conducting patient assessments, managing equipment, and maintaining infection control. Candidates must be licensed and have necessary certifications, including BLS, ACLS, and PALS. A sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist with state credentials.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with national board credentials.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Job description

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you believe in treating the whole person, not just the illness. Your role involves administering and managing ventilatory support, airway devices, and various respiratory therapies while ensuring patient safety, quality of care, and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in critical and general care procedures, including patient assessment, ventilator management, arterial punctures, code III response, bronchoscopy assistance, intubation, monitoring equipment, airway management, endo/nasotracheal suctioning, arterial line placement, aerosol therapy, IPPB, CPT, oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry, aerochamber/inhaler use, and peak flow measurements.
• Organize and set priorities while ensuring the safe operation of all equipment needed for patient care and procedures within established guidelines and timeframes.
• Manage equipment and supply needs appropriately.
• Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement through accurate monitoring, documentation, and incident reporting.
• Participate in planning, problem‑solving, and adhere to BSI policies at all times.
• Perform treatments using aseptic technique when required and follow, instruct, and enforce infection‑control policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe environment, recognize and correct unsafe conditions, and communicate treatment information to patients and families to ensure understanding and participation.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist – Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT) – National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Current American Heart Association certifications: BLS, CPR, ACLS, PALS.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
