Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position in Texas. The role involves a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures for adults and neonates, under indirect supervision.

The candidate should be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program with current BLS and ACLS, NBRC registration, Texas license, and at least 6 months of experience. NRP/PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support- must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures including ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function tests and ECGs.
• Prepares a treatment evaluation with bedside respiratory assessment, patient interview and review of medical records.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT results when reviewing patient data.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment (ventilators, oxygen analyzers, delivery devices, gas analyzers).
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance tasks.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Utilizes customer scripting to improve patient satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as required.
