Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center in Midlothian, TX, is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide ABG, PFT, and ventilator support for adults and neonates. The role works a 12X3 Night shift on a rotating weekends schedule, with 36 hours per week.

Candidates must graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, hold BLS and ACLS, obtain NRP/PALS within a year, be licensed by the Texas Medical Board, and be NBRC-registered, with at least 6 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, humidification and airway care.
• Conduct arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs and report results.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside respiratory assessment and chart review.
• Interpret CXR, ABG and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Assemble, operate and troubleshoot all cardiopulmonary equipment and devices.
• Participate in infection control, safety and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain and clean all cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
• Utilize patient scripting to improve satisfaction and care experience.
• Perform other duties as required.
