Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide direct patient care in respiratory services per physician orders and to consult on therapy effectiveness. You will act as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff, contributing to patient outcomes and the overall care process.

The role requires RRT credential, state licensure, and willingness to meet physical demands; PALS is required for ER staff, ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Must hold NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• For ER colleagues, PALS is required; ACLS preferred.
• Meets state licensure requirements and holds a current Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling and crouching.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in respiratory care per physician orders.

• Carry out duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
• Required Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required. Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
