Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast seeks a Respiratory Therapist to deliver direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and serve as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff in respiratory care, performing duties as assigned.

The role is full-time at Mercy Hospital Southeast, with a TBD shift and a sign-on bonus eligible up to $10,000.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• RRT credential required; PALS may be required for ER staff.
• ACLS preferred; PALS required for ER coworkers.

• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.

Qualifications

• Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
• Required Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required. Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
