Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care across respiratory therapies, following physician orders. The role includes consulting on therapy effectiveness and acting as a resource for physicians and nursing staff. Duties will be assigned as needed.

The position offers a full-time schedule with a sign-on bonus eligible up to $10,000 and opportunities to collaborate within a caring team focused on patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP). NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• ERS/PALS if ER; ACLS preferred.
• Meets state licensure requirements and current license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consult physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Serve as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing staff.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
• Required Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required. Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
