Job summary

UofL Health in Shepherdsville, KY is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our respiratory care team. The role requires an active Kentucky license, NBRC-registered credential, and ACLS/BLS certifications. New graduates are welcome, with 1 year of critical care experience preferred.

The RRT will manage ventilators, administer therapies, educate patients and families, and participate in precepting staff while maintaining HIPAA compliance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Cardiopulmonary Services or Respiratory Care is required.
• KBRC license active is required for employment.
• NBRC-registered Respiratory Therapist credential required; ACLS/BLS preferred.
• New graduates may apply; 1 year CC preferred for critical care.
• Experience with respiratory therapy protocols and patient education is expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer non-medicated aerosol and humidity therapy.
• Administer oxygen therapy per protocol and patient needs.
• Perform airway management and chest physiotherapy per orders.
• Ventilator management and wean according to protocol.
• Provide education to patients, families and staff.
• Serve as preceptor and assist in research projects as directed.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and standard of conduct.
