Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our respiratory care team at South Hospital/UMC. The role requires patient-centered care across all ages and adherence to department protocols.

The RRT administers oxygen and aerosol therapies, manages ventilators, performs arterial blood gas sampling, and provides education to patients and families. New graduates considered; active KBRC license, NBRC certification, and BLS/ACLS are required or must be obtained

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Cardiopulmonary Services or Respiratory Care is required.
• Active license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (KBRC) is required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (NBRC) is required and kept current.

Responsibilities

• Plans and administers oxygen therapy and aerosol therapies per protocol.
• Operates ventilators and manages settings and weaning per orders.
• Collects arterial blood samples for blood gas analysis.
• Provides patient, family, staff and physician education.
• Serves as a preceptor and supports rapid response and ICDs as needed.
