Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Metairie, LA seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. You will perform ABG analyses, document clinical information, and educate patients and staff.

The role requires adapting care to diverse patient populations and may include 24/7 on-call availability. Education includes an Associate's degree with a preference for a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• ACLS/BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to policy.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers about procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.Provides care tailored to patient age and needs.
• Maintains flexible work schedule including on-call availability.
