Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to administer and monitor respiratory care for patients with pulmonary disorders. You will collaborate with physicians, perform procedures such as oxygen therapy, PFTs, ABGs, and manage mechanical ventilation as prescribed.

Qualifications include AMA approved School of Respiratory Care, state licensure, NBRC registration within 2 years, BLS, and an associate degree. Rotating shift; benefits and career growth available.

Qualifications

• Professional competency in Respiratory Care per NBRC standards.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Interact with staff and colleagues in alignment with Jefferson values.
• Administer physician-prescribed respiratory therapy including oxygen, medications, PFTs, ABGs, and ventilation.
• Evaluate respiratory care needs and recommend treatment plans per department protocols.
• Monitor patients on mechanical ventilation including assessment, rounds, weaning and airway care.
• Collect and analyze sputum, blood and breath specimens for diagnostic purposes.
• Provide diagnostic results and treatment suggestions based on patient analyses.
• Communicate with health care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Ensure smooth operation of PFT and ABG labs and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
