Job summary

Registered Respiratory Therapist position at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR. 12-hour shifts; work within the Jefferson Regional Respiratory Therapy Department providing assessments, treatments, diagnostics, and patient education.

Collaboration with physicians, nurses, and therapists is essential. Required credentials include a respiratory therapy diploma, Arkansas license, RRT credential, and BLS; ACLS within 6 months; PALS/NRP preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Technical diploma in Respiratory Therapy is required. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred.
• Graduate from an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program
• Current license with the Arkansas State Medical Board and RRT credential required
• BLS required upon hire or before patient care; ACLS within 6 months; PALS/NRP preferred
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other respiratory therapists
• Assess patient needs and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, maintain accuracy, and handle confidential material
• 2+ years hospital experience preferred
• 1+ years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Experience in critical care and/or neonatal care areas preferred
• Proficiency in various respiratory therapy techniques preferred
• Experience in an acute care setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with breathing disorders such as asthma, emphysema and pneumonia.
• Administer respiratory treatments and conduct diagnostic tests.
• Educate patients on breathing techniques and equipment use.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
