Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist work s in the i npatient and/or o utpatient setting providing a wide-range of treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies . You will utilize various types of oxygen and other therapeutic gas equipment such as masks, tents and incubators . The patient population may range from newborn to geriatric . You will e ducate patient s of treatments , support groups and other available programs .

You will deliver and assess responses to ordered therapy per plan of care including routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures.

You will m easure ventilator volumes, pressures and blood gas analysis.

You will monitor , record , and communicate patient condition and general acceptance of treatment.

You will p erforms a variety of duties related to setting up, operating , cleaning, sterilizing, and storing respiratory therapy equipment.
