Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Jeffersonville, IN is seeking a Registered Radiology Technologist to produce high quality diagnostic images and ensure patient safety. You will prepare patients, educate them, and maintain imaging quality while adhering to department and industry standards.

The role may include supervising students during clinical training and upholding infection control and radiation safety practices. Relocation assistance, tuition support, and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• RO and ARRT-R license required.
• ROT license with ARRT-R must be obtained before ROT expiration.
• One year in general radiography (desired).

• Ensure radiation safety, infection control and quality control standards.
• Oversee and train students providing patient care during their training.

Responsibilities

The Registered Radiology Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
