Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks a Registered Pharmacy Technician I for Retail in Fort Worth. You will perform prescription data entry and filling, process payments at the point of sale, and arrange delivery/shipping to patients in a high‑volume retail setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent, RPhT on hire, and ideally Sterile IV Certification, with a preference for 2 years of retail pharmacy experience and strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician upon Hire required.
  • Sterile IV Certification highly preferred.
  • 2 years of previous Retail Pharmacy experience highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra.
  • The ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
  • Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
  • Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors. Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
  • Shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies

Work hours

Hours of operation:

  • Monday-Friday: 0730-2100
  • Weekends and Holidays: 0730-1600
  • 3 different shifts (730a-4p, 10a-630p and 1230p-9p), plus every other weekend.

We have several ongoing projects, including Specialty Pharmacy that is new. This is to be able to better serve our patients by meeting them where they are, so come join us from the beginning!

Candidate will complete prescription data entry & filling process along with selling the prescription through point of sale and arranging delivery/shipping to patient. This position requires the ability to perform essential duties such as lifting, standing, walking and moving equipment for the duration of the shift.
