Job summary

Texas Health Fort Worth seeks a Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) to support inpatient pharmacy operations. You will prepare and deliver medications, ensure accuracy, and participate in safety/compliance programs within a growing hospital.

The role requires a high school diploma, RPhT on hire, and preferred sterile IV certification; two years of retail pharmacy experience is highly preferred, with a teamwork-oriented environment and English proficiency.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire required.
  • Sterile IV Certification highly preferred.
  • 2 years Retail Pharmacy experience highly preferred.
  • Prior inpatient hospital experience highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in English, computers, software systems, and basic math (conversions, proportions, ratios, algebra).
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate preparation and delivery of medications to nursing units/departments; storage of medications.
  • Maintain accuracy and required competencies; uphold quality improvement and Patient Safety standards.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth; lead by example and manage time.
  • Communicate effectively; develop positive working relationships and train new employees on routine tasks.
  • Help minimize pharmaceutical costs and identify process efficiencies.

Work hours
  • Full time (40 hours) Evening shift (12:30pm- 9pm and 2:30pm- 11pm), rotating weekends, some holidays. May have to rotate overnights.

Here’s What You Need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire required
  • Sterile IV Certification highly preferred
  • 2 years of Retail Pharmacy experience highly preferred

  • Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra.
  • The ability to work alone and as part of a team.

  • Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
  • Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
  • Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors. Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
  • Shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies
