Job summary

Vitruvian Health in Dalton, GA seeks a Registered Nurse specialized in wound care to manage inpatient wounds and ostomy care. This full-time role requires a GA RN license, prior wound care experience, and BLS certification.

You will assess, monitor, and coordinate patient care with the Medical-Surgical team, following best practice standards and state regulations. The RN will participate in care planning, document thoroughly, and contribute to education of staff.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree in nursing is required.
• Licensure: Georgia RN license required; CWCN/CWS/WCC ostomy certifications preferred or obtainable within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for wound/ostomy clients as a case manager.
• Coordinate patient care with Medical and Clinical staff.
• Participate in groups to implement best-practice wound care standards and maintain compliance.

Working autonomously, the RN accepts responsibility and accountability for assigned patients as a case manager to plan, implement, and evaluate the care for Wound Care and Ostomy clients according to age-specific criteria. The RN assists in coordinating patient care efforts with appropriate plan of patient care in conjunction with Medical and Clinical staff. The RN will participate in work groups and teams, encouraging the participation of education in current best practice standards of wound care. The RN works within the State Practice Act and follows all hospital policies and procedures.**JOB QUALIFICATIONS****Education:** Associate's degree in nursing is required. Graduate of Baccalaureate School of Nursing Preferred. Credentialed by nationally accredited program of Wound Care preferred or required within 2 years of employment.**Licensure**: Current RN License in the State of Georgia. Prefer certification by nationally accredited Wound Care body (CWCN, CWS, WCC. Prefer ostomy certification by nationally accredited ostomy body (OMS, CCON).**Experience:** Two years’ experience in an acute care setting preferred. Previous wound care experience required.**Skills:** BLS certification required, credentialed by nationally accredited program of Wound Care preferred and required within 2 years of employment.**Physical, Mental, Environmental and Working Conditions**Works in acute health care setting with adult, neonates, pediatric, adolescents and geriatric patients experiencing a wide range of wound and ostomy related medical problems. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions.
