Job summary

Inova Cornwall Campus - Freestanding Emergency Department is seeking an experienced ED Nurse for a Full-Time mid shift (3pm-3am) with rotating weekends. Eligible for sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in Critical Care or a critical care fellowship.
• BSN or ADN with plan to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed or eligible for Virginia RN license; BLS required; ACLS within 6 months; PALS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable clinical practice and care coordination through understanding patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
• Conduct all patient care in a patient- and family-centered manner.
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes and adherence to standards/guidelines.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities:

• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.
• May perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience:1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
• Education: BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years from date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• License: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; For Critical Care units, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within 6 months of hire; For Pediatric units, Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: Two(2) plus years Emergency Department (ED) as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Other: Strong verbal and written communication skills.Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others. Proficient computer skills required
