Job summary

The Thought Disorders Unit at Sheppard Pratt Health System in Towson, MD is hiring a Registered Nurse (Night). This 22-bed unit provides psychiatric nursing care with a focus on psychotic illnesses, rotating weekends, and a 7PM–7AM schedule.

You will perform full professional psychiatric nursing duties, administer treatments, educate patients and families, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team. Maryland RN licensure required; CPR (AHA) and orientation provided.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current RN license to practice in Maryland at time of appointment and maintain licensure thereafter.
• Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred.
• CPR certification (AHA) required before first day of employment.
• Orientation and training provided for new clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care per team treatment plans.
• Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
• Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.
• Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other staff.
• Document and report patient progress to the treatment team.
